Ballin on a Budget: Ruby Kisses Luxe Shadows & Palette Swatches

Ladies and Gents Ruby Kisses has decided to jump on the pigmented shadows for cheap bandwagon and has not only come out with a line of shadows but get this a pop-out style palette similar to the new Urban Decay 4 shadow palettes. The palette itself is a very sleek design made of quality acrylic or plastic. I' not sure which one it is exactly. What I do know is these shadows are very pigmented for their $0.99 - $1.29 price tag, the empty palette retails for $2.99. So 4 very pigmented shadows and a sleek palette to store them in for $6.99 total isn't bad at all.

So let's get down to the deets of the matter. How do these babies perform? I must say that these are very good quality shadows. No they are not buttery smooth like Urban Decay shadows (and you can't expect that for the price) but they are better quality than my Coastal Scents 120 two palette. That palette has pretty bad fall-out, these shadows gave me no fall-out whatsoever. They are not chalky or powdery at all. I am very pleased with these shadows overall. Peek below for swatches.

Left to Right: Playful Bunny, Pretty in Pink, Lavender Dream, My Lady

Left to Right: Like A Virgin, Bare Radiance, Dazzling Sand, Happy Chickadee

Left to Right: Teal Me Over, Royalty, Midnight Howling, Twilight Zone

MAKE UP FOREVER HD#178 & Urban Decay Mariposa Palette

So I finally tried the MUFE HD foundation. I went to Sephora and picked up a sample, I've heard good things about it but I also heard that it doesn't do so well in hot weather and since I live in the south I was worried lol. What I can say is I did not do a whole lot the day I wore it but I did go on a date which consisted of movies, dinner and a walk in the park. I can honestly say that I had no melting and the foundation does feel very light. The color match was pretty close in #178 but I do think #177 would probably be a dead on match.

Comes in a variety of shades...

So take a look below and let me know what you think:

All products used: MUFE HD foundation #178, MAC MSF in Rio for highlight and blush, Maybelline Eye studio gel liner in brown for eyebrows, LA Pro concealer in Fawn for under eye and eyebrow clean up. Eyes: Urban Decay Mariposa palette Limelight and Spotlight on the lids, Rockstar in the crease and Skimp for highlight. For my transition color I used MAC Saddle.  Lips: MAC Cozy Up (Limited Edition).

Have an AWESOME day and BE YOU!

Natural Hair Style : Gift Bow

Hey there beautiful people. I have taken my last sew in out and has decided to give my hair a break until my birthday (labor day weekend) and just let my natural coils and kinks hang free. So with my hair being so fine and a bit long, at this point it is a bit difficult to successfully wear a " wash n go" so I tried my hand at being a little creative with y signature high puff. I came up with the idea of turning the ends into a gift bow. Please comment and let me know if you would like a full tutorial. Here is how it came out:

Contouring and Highlighting: Errrmmm Yeah

Ok! So everyone loves to be able to take weight off of their face and make certain areas look AWESOME right? However...smh...my GAWD is this not a daunting task for someone who is new to this. Finding the right products, learning to apply them correctly and of course using the correct brushes. I have made a lot of mistakes on this journey to have finally learned a method that works for me and my skin tone. I thought I would share as I know that this is not easy for beginners and someone may find that this process works for them as well, so with that being said....

HERE WE GO ( This gets UGLY before it gets pretty...viewer discretion is advised :) )

First I Prime my face with Milk of Magnesia (MOM) and add my concealer (Maybelline Fit Me #30"Cafe")

Then I set the concealer using either Ben Nye's Banana Powder but this time I used MAC's Mineralize SkinFinish in "Rio".

Next, I contoured my nose and cheeks using Ben Nye's Luxury powder "Sienna".

 Its a MESS I know LMAO!!! ;)

The finished Product You Say????????????????????????????

Products used:  Mac StudioFix Fluid Foundation in NW47, MAC Rio Mineralize SkinFinish for highlight and cheeks, MAC Feline Eye Kohl for upper liner, Urban Decay Naked Palette on the lids, LaFemme Satin Rose on the cheeks, Milani Raspberry Rush on my lips and I used Rio MSF all over to set the look.

MAC Heroine Lip Liner Dupe

Whats going oooooooon party people???? Hope you all had a great holiday. It has been a little while since my last post but I am back with some goooooood stuff huntees! First I am bringing you something you may or may not be familiar with and that is the closest dupe available to the infamous Ms. Heroine Lip Liner. Every time she is available she is sold out and I merst say she is Fabulous! Creamy, glides on like a dream and no need to layer it on, one swipe and you are G2G! Let me let cha know! So the closest dupe I have found was actually already in my stash and one of my favorite liners....

Here are the swatches. It is not a dead on dupe without a flash as Heroine is definitely more pigmented but with a flash and with lipstick or a gloss you will not be able to tell the difference.

I hope this helps those of you that couldn't snag Heroine, hopefully this will suffice until the next go round.

As always... Have a great day and BE YOU!

Vacation? Summer Party? Hot Date?: Tropical Tutorial

Good Mooooooorning Lay-days and Gentles!

I murst say that I am feeling myself today chile! Having an awesome hair day and I did sooooo good with today's eye look. I am getting so much better, I can't lie. I had my transition color all the way off and I really wasn't using the proper brush(es) for my crease. I ordered MAC Saddle for transition and being as though I have very small, "chinky" eyes, I should've been using a smaller-more pointed brush for my crease. I heard all about the glorious MAC 226 brush (the unicorn of MAC brushes lol) and some use the 224 or the 217. I opted for the MAC 226 dupe from coastal scents, based upon online reviews. Because I just recently ordered these products, I do not have either one yet. So what I did was I found a color in one of my CG Quads that was similar but had a little shimmer and I wet my current crease brushed and pinched it for a much finer tip and Waaaaah-Laaaaaah! Still not perfect but much better and a very pretty look! Check it out:

The Eyes: Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box, Primer Potion, Ruby Kisses Liquid Liner - Carbon, Maybelline Stilleto Mascara

First I started off with the color "Honey" in my inner v and tear duct. I blended honey over to about 1/2 of the lid. Next I used "Graffiti" on the 2nd half of the lid while blending honey and graffiti together in the middled. I then used "Peace" in my outer V and begin to bring the color into graffiti and blended the two together. So you should have a nice rainbow or Yellow-Yellowish green-Green-Greenish Blue. I used my transition color in the crease and blended it out some, I then went back into my lid to place "Fishnet" in between the Yellow and Green. Used a matte neutral tannish-nude color for brow highlight. Added my liner, mascara and here is the finished look:

The Lips: NYX Hot Pink Lip Liner & MAC Rose Maiden (LE)

This was pretty simple, as always I moisturize my lips at least a half hour prior to lining them or addidnt lipstick. Just something I do to let the moisture really sink into my lips. I then applied lined my lips with NYX's Hot Pink and filled them in. I then went over the liner with MAC's Rose Maiden and because this is a frost its super creamy and has sheen, take a look:

The Face: Iman Shade Stick Foundation - Earth 2 & MAC Hot Nights

As always my face was primed with M.O.M. I used the Beauty Blender to blend my foundation to my skin, I must say that I LOVE Iman's foundation stick. It does not rub off easily and its so easy to use and the clean up? There is none. I used FitMe concealer in #30. On my cheeks I used MAC's blush in Hot Nights (Temperature Rising Collection). For contouring and highlighting I used my go-tos Ben Nye's Luxury Powders in Banana and Sienna. I also use Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Topaz as a finishing powder.

Here is the finished Look:
